Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

1.    We believe in the trinity of the Godhead: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
2.    We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and accept the full contents as the authority for faith and life.
3.    We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of sin, man received the penalty of sin which was separation from God (spiritual death).
4.    We believe that Jesus Christ is the true Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
5.    We believe that Jesus Christ was the Lamb of God who was sacrificed for the sins of the world. His blood purchased our salvation.
6.    We believe that Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead, ascended on high and has become our High Priest and mediator with the Father.
7.    We believe that Jesus Christ will return again in person to take back His body of believers upon the earth.
8.    We believe that all who call upon the Name of the Lord and repent of their sin will be born-again and filled with his Holy Spirit.
9.    We believe in the resurrection of the dead and that all will face their Creator on judgement day. The righteous will receive rewards and live forever in the presence of the Almighty, but those who have rejected salvation will be banished from the presence of God forever, to live in the place of eternal judgment and damnation.
10.    We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit within the body of Christ, individually and corporately. We also believe that the five-fold ministry: apostle, prophet, evangelist and pastor/teacher were all given to equip and empower the children of God for the work of the ministry
11.    We believe in the principle of authority, because we all stand under the authority of God. As such all membership is subject to submission and authority in matters pertaining to church governance, doctrine and personal behaviour.
12.    We believe that church membership is based on the fact that a person has received and confessed Jesus as his/her Lord and Saviour, and have received the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
13.     We believe in baptism (full immersion in water of a believer as identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ) to be a very necessary act of obedience.

14.    We also believe in partaking of the Lord’s Supper in the form of bread and the fruit of the vine as symbolic of the saviour’s broken body and shed blood. This is to be observed until the Lord returns.
